tom edwards ceramics (hilarious)

i’ve been enamorate of colorado artist tom edwards‘ pottery ever since we received it as a wedding gift, almost a decade and a half ago!
tom honed his craft in california. he selected clay as his medium because he didn’t think he was that good at painting or drawing. he started out doing art fairs in the 80’s, built a following, and then began selling in galleries.
many of tom’s pieces center around the antics of a dog named wally. this savvy canine, over the course of time, has found himself in a whirlwind of political uproar, corporate downsizing, and designer coffee.
tom’s simple pots, mugs and plates are imbued with a combination of humor and sharp and timely political insight. they are thoughtful, fun and easy to collect. purchase them at mindscape, or buy directly from the artist while exploring his many other designs on his wallyware site.

Very funny indeed. I especially like the Starbucks one.

I too have been collecting wallyware cups since discovering one in a gift shop in Las Vegas in 1990. Edwards has a quick wit and excellent perspective. The best yet is Abdul the blind pencil vendor of Bagdad versus Muhammad the mountain warloard. A perfectly accurate critique of the government.
