look at these fun illustrations from english artist zara picken.
zara is a student at the university of the west of england in bristol.
she uses pen and ink, print gocco, gouache and digital techniques to produce her pieces.
she is looking forward to a long career of drawing, collaging and painting soon.
i love her clever humor, strong lines and exuberant color.

love that cat in the city. very subtle. very cool.

i really like the bird in the city. the cat is one that she did for illustration friday, and the theme was poem, and the poem she chose was a carl sandburg one about fog rolling in over a city. a very cool interpretation.
