i am enjoying these watercolor and gouache pieces from artist rachel dayson. this bright collection of works presented on paper and fabric will draw you in with its lighthearted themes and lively color palette, but viewing the assortment of faces on these pieces – a little tense and skewed yet composed – will make you think she’s been following you around all day, in your mind, looking at the same people you did.
there is strife and conflict, joy and pleasure here, and it’s captured in the eyes, as in life. what a noteworthy ability, to see a gamut of emotion in your mind and put it all in one place for the world to see, in any form.
