holiday ornament swap – #1

oh my stars look what came in the mail last night – my first ornament from the swap! the hubs told me to keep it in the envelope until we hang it up, for safekeeping (and fear of destruction), but i, intrepid casual photographer that i am, decided to throw the caution to the wind, and leave it out for a quick snapshot.

i’m not too proud to admit that he was right. back in to the envelope it goes… for now.

thank you jess!

Good idea!!! My cats have knocked our tree over twice now! Good thing it’s fake, but that means NO glass ornaments for a while 🙂 Have fun!

  2. the scholar Says:

    hi catherine,

i have to hide it until we put our tree up, which we aren’t doing for a week or so… it will be completely unraveled if i leave it out before then! 🙂

someday i will tell the story about this cat and the catnip… it’s not pretty!

    thanks for the visit!

  3. sosser Says:

love the ornament! this swap is so much fun, can’t wait to see what you’re making 🙂

    (smooches to mr. lucky)

    hi sosser,

i am so glad that i decided to participate and that you are too! 🙂

the cat told me to tell you “hey.”

    thanks for the comment!

  5. Bri Says:

What fun! Yes, bird ornaments look quite a bit like toys for kitties. I can’t wait to see what else you get, and what you are making.

  6. the scholar Says:

    hi bri,

if i made that banana bread from that last recipe you posted, lucky would eat that for dessert! 🙂

i am looking forward to finishing up my ornaments and sending them off soon, and seeing what else comes in the mail! 🙂

    nice 2 c u!

Okay, I already loved your blog. Now I love it even more cuz you couldn’t resist putting funny pix of your cat on it. Anyone who finds the kitties funny is a-ok in my book. It’s a weakness that only the strongest can admit. What a lovely moggie he or she is, too. Yay. 🙂

  8. the scholar Says:

    hi bb,

oh thank you for the compliment! lucky is an action cat and when i took this ornament out of the envelope the bell on it was ringing and he went a little nutty. i couldn’t take the photo of him backpaddling it with his feet because i had to get the birdie away from him! 🙂

thanks for the visit – and btw i am SO buying that good day t shirt you featured on your fabulous blog!
