galleri sindahl art and jewelry
i am still feeling officially festive so please enjoy some fun glitter paintings and jewels from swedish artist tina for her galleri sindahl. her mixed media pieces are made of acrylic paint and glass glitter. many have metallic details too.
i am enjoying her different combinations of colors, gems, and materials in her unique line.
check out the jewelry here, and the paintings there. there’s also a bead shop!
whiting and davis mesh fabric
i don’t know about you, but whenever i’ve gone to a slightly-cold-but-modern-and-trendy hotel or restaurant, i frequently spot striking 15 foot tall curtains that divide the rooms and really set a sophisticated tone for the joint. they are too cool for school (school being my house in this example) but boy do i love looking at them! these huge swaths of fabric really are not fabric at all, but actually supremely chic metal mesh materials, just like these examples from the massachusetts company whiting and davis. they began making chain mail by hand back in the early 1900’s, and have since developed a machine technique to create large swaths of the stuff for residential, fashion and industrial purposes. the material comes in aluminum, brass, and stainless steel in a rich tones of silver, gold, platinum, and bronze. if your needs are more specific, three of the patterns can be enameled in a pantone color especially for you!
if you’re looking for a way to create drama and glamour in a room, i do believe this will help.
ed note: it’s been a dog’s age since i posted something luxe up in here. it feels pretty good!

philippe stark palindrome watch
i like the whimsical avant designs of philippe stark (more on that later) and i like this watch called the palindrome. at first glance you think the minute hand is missing, but that’s actually his logo, and the little rectangular bit floating around in there is the hour hand.
fun, hmmm?
available in white and black at the fossil shop, but unfortunately you’ll have to hunt around a bit for that orange one…

the cocoa room candies
look at these delicious dragées from chicago candymaker suzanne weaver for her company the cocoa room. suzanne enrobes fruits, macadamias, pistachios, sunflower seeds and more in a snug layer of chocolate, and then finishes them with a dazzling candy coating. they’re much more sophisticated (and healthy) to me than those other candy coated chocolates we know!
the candy comes in practically every color of the rainbow and lots of different combinations. wouldn’t it make a lovely party favor?
see their website for more delicious info!
