ohhhhhhh. how lovely to behold! it’s the solid chinese elm ellipse bookcase from european furniture shop la maison coloniale. the shelves are covered in unrolled bamboo.
ack – no us stores, or north american stores for that matter… but you will love browsing their website anyway!

hi paula,
yes it is different! i think it’s curvy and fun and i love seeing that integrated with the very straight “desk” lines that we see everyday. although you are right, maybe it would be cooler if it was just a curve.
nice to see you!

What an interesting design. It’s going in that golden section direction. I actually don’t mind the desk part, myself, since it makes me think of those great Asian apothecary chests with all the little drawers. And frankly, anything in bamboo is a winner in my mind.

hi bri,
i want to see one of these up close and personal to see about the desk part… and now i want one of those little drawer cabinets too. hmmm…maybe a circle shelf on the wall with the thousand drawer chest underneath it?
thanks for the visit!
