an artist a day website

if you do not already, i encourage you to look at this interesting website called artist a day. they feature one new emerging artist per day in the hopes of creating more exposure for them and art in general, everyday. the people featured work in a variety of media, and a few words about themselves and their vision are included along with one or two images. what a great way for creative people to create additional internet presence for themselves!

i love this and i love what they are doing, but i want to see more – much much more and more types of media please! they feature wonderful high quality talent here (including the brilliant jennifer maestre and mark khaisman recently), so whoever here among us is making the beautiful things, please go and submit your work for review!

thanks for the tip dear husband!

Excellent…this is precisely the sort of site I’m always looking for. Thanks! Links to any other “artist a day” sites would be greatly appreciated.

I can only think of two off the top of my head. There’s ArtMoco:

    http://mocoloco.com/art/

And New York magazine does Art Candy:

    http://nymag.com/daily/entertainment/art_candy/

This is impossible to believe, but there isn’t a dedicated RSS feed for Art Candy–no website sucks like a magazine’s website–so as far as I’m concerned it could be published in the back pages of a trade publication aimed at the Latvian dairy industry. They want me to BOOKMARK IT, and checkback regularly? Why don’t I go churn my own butter while I’m at it, Grandpa?

    johnny!

HAHAHAHA! why don’t you tell us how you really feel? 🙂 and i don’t disagree with you about magazine websites either, for the most part.

thanks for the website tips. have you looked at the beholder? she’s in the side bar on the left. i don’t think it’s updated everyday but she has interesting works.

    thanks for stopping by!

wos thanx for sharing this – the top piece is amazing!

    hi mary,

that top photo is amazing isn’t it? she is a painter from chicago so i am not sure if she creates installations like this all that frequently. if you click on her name, the link will take you to her portfolio (which is great!).

i’m glad that you like it and glad you came over to make a comment – thanks! 🙂
