alessandro gottardo shout illustrations

look here at italian artist and book illustrator alessandro gottardo, aka shout. he creates wonderful washy, scratchy, fluid and slightly spooky illustrations. his name comes from the feeling of being stifled creative at an agency he was in contract with some years ago. he adopted his nom de plume shortly thereafter, and since then has built an impressive list of clients including the new york times, the guardian and penguin books.

i love the wide open spaces in these illustrations, and the minimal color palette he uses has great impact but is soothing too.
purchase these prints at thumbtack press and find out more about shout here. see more details here about purchasing alessandro’s very cool looking books, jetlag 1 and jetlag 2!
