vintage scale wall hooks
I love it when you can hang a hook on the wall and even when there is nothing on it you still have something of visual interest up there. These early 20th century scale hooks are a fine example. Since they are cast brass reproductions they aren’t working scales, but I still think they’re pretty cool.
The set of 5 pieces is $69.95 and you can find them at Signals.
agape steel tub – modern rustic
Q: Why does this Vieques tub that looks like it is straight out of 1870’s Deadwood appeal so much to me? I half expect to see some gold miner dude in it, wearing grimy long johns with a back button flap, trying to scrub himself clean while he smokes a cigar.
A: Well, duh – it’s designed by Patricia Urquiola for agape, and she can do no wrong as I have previously mentioned. Love her style. This beast is made of two toned steel and has an optional teak backrest and shelf, which totally make this piece as I see it.
See it and more ultra modern bathroom design right over here.

modern wine rack, vintage roots
Paying homage to the genesis of all wine, Danish designer Jakob Wagner has created a wine rack to resemble the twists and curves of grapevines. A smart cantilevered style enables the stored bottles to do double duty as stylish sculpture, as they appear to float freely against the wall from a distance. The rack holds six bottles of assorted sizes and is offered in two styles: polished aluminum or synthetic black rubber over fiberglass.
Oh so minimal and stylish.
Find it at Menu.
