new york giants 21, chicago bears 16.
i’m not the biggest sports fan in the world, but my home team, which should have won today’s professional football game, bombed out in the 4th quarter. i think i like these other bears much more right now:

birthday print from milwaukee’s little friends of printmaking

polar bear on ski vacation blank greeting card from delray beach’s citrus tree designs

bear vs. robot wallet by chris bishop for portland’s tiny meat

handknit merino wool koala bear from houston’s barking dog designs

long time original acrylic painting from tampa’s christina lyon

happy bears tee shirt from brooklyn’s marilyn patrizio

the bear regretted his decision print from sydney’s yellow monday

handmade benedict bear from adelaide’s little red pear

roomscape polar bear collage from austin’s one creative girl
surprise! they’re all available on etsy!
i think we have enough players assembled here for the tee formation now…

i love this abandoned ghost town series by chicago (by way of texas) photographer and graphic designer chris poulin. as is the pattern with other photographers i’ve featured in this space (what is up with that?), chris first started taking pictures at the tender age of nine, with a camera from his grandfather. he hasn’t stopped since then. with extensive background, knowledge and skills in architecture, photography and graphic design, he currently works as a well-rounded graphic designer, who has the natural ability to see the big picture and execute projects with careful attention to scope and scale.

this particular collection is foreboding and slightly sad, but it sure does have some soul.
see more cool images and find more info about chris on his website.

i am on the road today and tomorrow but wired (in many ways) and pleased to bring some more interesting art and style to this space even if i’m not working from my home base. the wonders of the interweb never cease to amaze me!
anyway, i’m guessing that slipping one of these colorful 12.5″ x 20″ travel pillowcases by texas artist lindy lou over that teeny airplane pillow will make the flight much more enjoyable. she’s using kaffe fassett, martha negley, joel dewberry and a smattering of vintage fabrics to create these pieces.

i am having fun perusing her etsy shop, which also offers some amy butler quarters, and i think you will too.

look at these watercolors and digital art pieces from texas artist amy farrier.

i really hope she starts selling some of these. i love that loose, drippiness combined with the precise lines, her harmonious color palettes and most of all her special touches of surrealism and humor!
see more on her blog, and view amy’s portfolio here.
