for those of us who have cats with active imaginations, i proudly present the flat pack, fold together cat playhouses from suck uk…

what they need to do is sell an add-on kit for opposable kitty thumbs, so they can build it themselves. after all, cats need to feel empowered sometimes too.
it’s £15.00, and it’s (almost) available right here.

i have a cold. does anyone know what walking pneumonia is? anyway i don’t feel good and am taking it easy today. i am so sleepy, which as you can see appears to be rubbing off on those around me.

is there strength in numbers? maybe not when it comes to colds. hopefully i will be back tomorrow tanned rested and ready for action.

i think these funny tabletop sculptures and clocks from the canadian team of don gidley and sue parke are so much fun! i love the scratchy texture on all their handmade pieces and all the bright colors they use. you can really tell they enjoy making their delightfully whimsical collection.

find a wonderful assortment of don and sue’s work at uncommon goods, the human arts gallery, conversation pieces and maddi’s gallery.

omg what a riot! look at these photobooth strips of barnyard animals and other friendly looking beasts from pennsylvania artist kyley hellhake. she sells them in sets of four and you have the choice of mixing and matching any four strips you like.

how absolutely hilarious and charming! seeing that it’s hard enough to wrangle people together for a photo, i cannot imagine the patience kelly must have had to take photos of all these guys. hats off to her creativity and sense of humor.
find these wonderful photos on her etsy shop, check out her frame shop and gallery, see the beautiful paintings made by minnow, her chincoteague pony (yes like misty and stormy and yes the horse painted them!) and see the rest of her portfolio here (whew!).

are you like most people who have a small, spacey, swinging kitty with discriminating tastes that always manages to take up a quarter of your king size bed and ruin your sleep while doing it? oh wait - maybe that’s just me. i do believe the cat capsule from french designer christian ghion may be the answer to my cat prayers. it’s quite compact and has an uber stylish mid century modern sensibility.

if this thing swivels, i just might have to figure out where to buy it, even if it is better looking than my own furniture!

oh my stars look what came in the mail last night - my first ornament from the swap! the hubs told me to keep it in the envelope until we hang it up, for safekeeping (and fear of destruction), but i, intrepid casual photographer that i am, decided to throw the caution to the wind, and leave it out for a quick snapshot.
i’m not too proud to admit that he was right. back in to the envelope it goes… for now.
thank you jess!

bad cat and turkey print from russian artist annya djachiachvili’s etsy shop
today is thanksgiving, a day when cherished friends and families come together to slow down a little, break bread and hopefully create wonderful memories. we’ll get back to the regularly scheduled program after the holiday, but for now, i’d like to take a moment to reflect on these themes of gratitude and giving. i want you to know how fortunate i feel to have so many loyal, smart and funny readers who come to this space regularly. i’ve been building my blog here for six months now, and all the comments you leave, and emails, and encouragement, and positive energy i receive from you is truly amazing. it still boggles my mind that we can find people, all around the world, through our computers, and create genuine connections that come so naturally (that is so weird to say that, but true!).
i think if you have just one friend in the world you’re lucky.
thank you all so much for being there!
