i like the colors and themes in this fun line work from san francisco artist pascal campion.

there is terrific use of color here, as it makes me hot or cold depending on which piece i am staring at. and i also know what season it is. what a success!
find these pieces at thumbtack press, say hi to pascal on his blog, and see his full portfolio here.

my husband has a tippy lamp test that he has used on all the lamps in our house we have ever purchased together. he pokes the body of the of a potential candidate with his finger and if it falls over, he refuses to buy it. he thinks it’s a sign of a poor design if it happens (and i think it’s because of what a very affectionate orange cat might do to it!). anyway, i love these simple table and floor lamps with their jute shades and chunky stone bases, because they’re not going anywhere.

$129 and $199 respectively at west elm.

grabbing the brass ring has a different meaning now, with this engraved piece from avant belgian designer maison martin margiela. look at the discreet bottle opener on the bottom, for impromptu and emergency openings.

this is clever and functional too and i love the texture of the material and and warmth of the aged looking metal.
$135 right here.

i’ve never had the experience of a bathing experience in stone, but i’m willing to learn in this gorgeous blue stone bathtub from dutch bath company balance. do i need to go on and on about the luxurious simplicity, the robust materials or the superior urbane organic style? i think not.
and i dig that el touch floor mount faucet too - coming in february!

if you are a texture nerd like me you might go mad for these rough gemstone sinks and countertops from the rachiele company of florida. they are using large chunks of genuine stones like turquoise, amber and jasper to craft rugged, rustic pieces for commercial and residential interiors.

see the full selection on their website, including their beautiful copper countertops and sinks, which were featured in the 2006 hgtv house.

look here at these lovely sterling silver pieces from stitch and silver.

designer laura bradshaw finds inspiration in childhood memorabilia and found objects.

many of her pieces feel like one-offs, thanks to their unique rough textures, relief patterns and combination of matte and shiny finishes.

but wait, there’s more! how about these pins, made from recycled threads, felt, and vintage buttons?

of course, all this elegantly organic jewelry, as well as the deliciously quirky adornments, are made by hand.
