the clever 2010 calendar by noa bembibre

The stylish, Helsinki-based Noa Bembibre is back with her whimsical words in her calendar for 2010, cats let nothing darken their roar. Here are some highlights:

With all this crummy weather we’ve been having over here, octagon, be nicer is especially appropriate.

For the 5th year anniversary of making her calendar, Noa is offering a limited edition of 500 and 2 sizes to choose from, price range $39-60 usd. Get your name on the list and purchase the calendar beginning the 19th of October right here.

brainy swim cap by atypyk

Let’s give a tip of the hat (or cap) to those clever French folks at Atypyk, who have designed the perfect swim cap for me to wear while taking those water aerobics classes this winter:

new work from rachel horrocks

you may remember the wonderfully tactile, inspired wall decor from uk designer rachel horrocks that i wrote about a while ago. rachel has continued to develop the concept of fun felty artwork with this new series called decoflora. still crafted from 100% wool felt like her basic baroque pieces, the decoflora series presents a more feminine style and attaches with a simple removable hook and loop on the wall, allowing you to place myriad unique patterns on your walls.

4 lovely colors of flowers are available in sets of 5, 10 or 20 pieces. prices start at £38. see more and contact rachel on her website.

chalk chess by suck uk

i really REALLY want you to love this chalk chess set from the clever mind of william shannon at suck uk as much as i do. i love how you can use the pieces to draw the board and that you can take them with you anywhere. i wish it was distributed somewhere in the states, i think it’s a terrifically creative idea and wonderful gift for the chess lover you know.

it’s £12.00, and was expected to be in stock late last month. you should be able to get more details right here.

cat house by leo kempf

I am all about functional contemporary cat houses so check this one out from Arkansas designer Leo Kempf. There’s a little cat flap on the side to get in. A ramp extends up to the second floor, where a sheepskin rug, plexiglass picture window and (what looks like) some mini oil portraits on the walls await. There’s also a little cardboard in front to release a demonic urge to scratch, if your cat has that unusual type of problem.

Very cool.

See more of it and other design on Leo’s website.

okayk eye chart notecards (clever)

I love these little notecards and larger sized prints from Chicago artist ohkayk. They sprung from a moment while in the optometrist’s office. I just think they are so fresh, clean and clever.

Totally affordable too – the collection ranges from $3 to $37.50. Buy them here.
