i am a freak about bravo television’s project runway. seriously every time i watch the show it makes me want to become a fashion designer, or at least pick my sewing back up. if you are a fan too, you might like to know that jay mccarroll, the winner of season one, will be debuting his clothing line sometime tonight between 9 pm and 11 pm eastern on qvc. season two winner chloe dao will be making an appearance too. here’s is one of the things jay is releasing to the public tonight, his checkerboard coat.

i always thought jay was an earnest, innovative designer and am looking forward to seeing his work again. until tonight, check out his online shop here and say hi to him on his blog too.

look at this paper fashion collection from uk artist jennifer collier. she has mastered a multitude of techniques, including weaving, stitching and waxing, and has created a group of garments so fascinating to view. carefully crafted from bits of paper, plastic and assorted found objects and materials, these transient and disposable materials are skillfully transformed into items which have distinct and dynamic value.

i absolutely adore the charming and sophisticated stylings of seattle artist jerry seguin, aka etsy seller redheather. jerry uses both hand and digital techniques, and uses a variety of materials including watercolors, pencil, he also has formal training in art and fashion, so it’s no wonder he can merge the two together so seamlessly here:

christian siriano tributes (funny)

me, myself and i fans of project runway might enjoy this goofy tee shirt created by chris glass, which features most recent winner christian siriano’s favorite word. at the beginning of the season i had picked jillian lewis to win, but i think christian’s designs were just a tad more spectacular. except for that prom dress in that one challenge that one time.

i read on gawker that christian is officially eliminating this favorite catch word from his repetoire. i’m a little sad about this, because i’d like this one to stick around for a little while longer. i guess grabbing up the shirt would be a way of preserving a sentimental teeny slice of pop culture (like a concert tee) that me myself and i we can hold and keep with us for a long, long time.

if you missed the snl sketch from this past weekend immortalizing christian’s vocabulary, take a two and a half minute break, watch this clip and have a good howl.

purchase the tee and see other cool shirts at wire and twine.
