wowee wee woo woo look at these amazing lights from new zealand born, london-based designer jeremy cole. jeremy is clearly inspired by the organic forms found in nature and his aloe collection reflects that philosophy; simple structures on the outside cover hidden complexities within. the lights are made of individual handcrafted porcelain pieces and are offered in three styles: bud, blossom and shoot.

i needed a laugh today and i got it in new zealand designer phil cuttance’s jocular (and functional!) resin animal hangers, a twist on the idea (and continuing trend) of traditional animal head trophies. in phil’s interpretation, the fronts and the backs of the animals are equally important to display.

the hangers are sold in sets of two for $50 at charles and marie. choose from hippo, moose or giraffe styles. teehee.

i like the playful raised pile on this lasa rug from german design firm jab anstoetz. it reminds me of macaroni, an effect which is achieved by felting the main color around a darker yarn core. it’s made of new zealand merino wool and looks supremely cozy.

i love seeing dramatic color pops in neutral rooms, and this would definitely fit the bill. i also love their perfect colors (it also comes in apple green!).
be sure to check jab’s website for other beautiful things.

i was minding my own business today, and decided to splurge and grab lunch today at trotter’s to go. when i went to pay, i discovered these milk and dark chocolate candy bars from new zealand’s bloomsberry chocolate company. their packaging is so clever, i just had to share it with you!

the bloomsberry folks were just minding their own business too, on the other side of the world, when people from all nations discovered them, consumed them and requested them. now their popularity has risen to tremendous heights, and they sell their delicious confections around the globe!

tell me you don’t love their bochox — so funny!
