wow, look at these innovative angled cornerframes from yvonne schroeder for the german company details. these would be great for dead corners or spots in homes where mechanicals have been hidden behind drywall.

find them in natural maple or beech black finishes, and choose from inside or outside corner styles through the details website. dimensions for the inside frame are 29.5 x 29.5 x 3.2 cm, height 40 cm (about 11″ x 11″ x 1.3″, 16″ tall); outside are 26 x 15.5 x 3.2 cm, height 33 cm (about 10.5″ x 6″ x 1.3″, 13″ tall) they also make custom sizes.
don’t lose your mind when you see how much the ones in production are, though (198 € for inside and 224 € for outside).

ciro totku’s cambodian adventure

look at these intriguing photos from graphic designer ciro totku.

he was born in moscow but now lives in sihanoukville, a seaside village in cambodia.

ciro received his first camera at age ten (hmm, just like phil toledano) from his parents.

although selective use of color is a leitmotif here, ciro also has some compelling black and white photos.

austere, abstract and intense.
more photos and a tiny bit of info about ciro here.

i stumbled upon the clever photography of chema madoz on a blog last week, and now i think i’m obsessed. thanks a lot, haha.nu!

this spanish artist has achieved critical acclaim by photographing everyday objects in alternate contexts and combinations.

he was born in madrid, studied there, and collected and exhibited internationally.

his work is witty, crisp and surreal. just how i like it.

spooky. witty. utterly ingenius. phil toledano believes that a photograph should be like an unfinished sentence. in his clever pursuit of this, he has amassed a portfolio of original photography that simply dazzles.

i can’t decide which group of photos i like the best. i think my favorite is video gamers.

or maybe marks?

each photograph (and the stories they collectively tell) is just so thorough, and engrossing. the viewer just might burst with thought-provoking joy of discovery.
a lover of photography since he was a child has only been disrupted by a decade-long career in art direction. i suspect that he was at the top of his field when he was doing this.
he was born in london and currently resides in new york. check out his collection here. some limited edition works can be purchased online at gild.
