I think I have made it clear how I feel about the fantastic ongoing poster project advice to sink in slowly, which recent graduates of University College Falmouth create and pass onto first year students, since I have mentioned them before. If you enjoy them too, then you should pop over to Meighan’s blog (which is a great read btw) and sign up for her giveaway! Five lucky winners will receive a set of the five newest posters from the collection. This set includes works from Kareena Zerefos, Nigel Peake, Sian Williams, Barnaby Richards, and Oliver Sutherland. You can see for yourself why it’s hard to pick a favorite.

After looking at these designs I am already jealous of whoever the lucky people are who will win.
Check out lots of other poster designs at the advice to sink in slowly flickr stream or shop. Their website is coming soon too, so be sure to bookmark it. Enter the giveaway at my love for you starting tomorrow (October 10th) through October 13th, 2008. Good luck to all!

i have chatted previously with you about advice to sink in slowly, because, you know, it’s such an AWESOME project. i like this recent (extremely) hand drawn addition from uk artist gemma correll:

so true, and if you do it you won’t feel regretful later.
it does not look like this piece is in stock right now, but look at all the others you can purchase in the advice shop!
see gemma’s website and send her some greetings over here.

this limited edition giclee print by london-based graphic designer jamie wieck is an obsessive riot. the idea was borne of jamie’s outrage over the rules restaurants impose on their patrons. questions turned into more questions and the end result is this amazing, repeating if-then flow chart pattern.

purchase the print and see more of jamie’s work (i love danté’s tea break!) right here.

i think many of us have already seen the keep calm silkscreened poster, but i like all the different shades that sharon over at the blulima shop has of it. her other offerings are pretty swell too.

see the full complement of colors and prints at sharon’s etsy shop.

look at these fun and bright screenprints and canvases featuring famous song lyrics from the it’s pop it’s art collection from london design company airside. they are working in conjunction with emi, the music publishing company to create these quirky and playful limited edition posters, which were inspired by the connection and love of music and art.

i love graphic word and art combinations and think these are so playful and appealing.
purchase the collection at the airside shop and see lots of other cool things around their site too!

i am certain that i slammed on those cheezy successories motivational posters they used to sell at the mall in the eighties when i wrote about the advice posters for students a few months back. now i am taking it back, because i (and you!) can make funny ones ourselves at the automotivator website. you can use your own images or select from their library, and add your own text.

funny!
go and make some here — for a small fee you can even get them in hi-res format for printing!

when i was a freshman in college, it would have been nice to get some sage advice from the more experienced kids on campus about what school would be like. the first year students at the university college falmouth receive a gift of a poster from recent graduates, permanently inked with tidbits of wisdom and gorgeous, inventive design. it’s called the advice to sink in slowly series. the more you peruse the selection here, the more you realize that it’s not just filled with a sense of humor and clever musings, but also astute advice that can be applied in everyday life too.

i’ll take these over cheesy motivational posters anyday!
bonus: if you like them, you can buy them! the A3 (11″ x 17″) posters are only £5.00 each, so why not buy more than one?
purchase them here and be sure to check out their flickr stream too!
