Beautiful functional and sculptural stoneware with great organic style from the talented hands of North Carolina potter and Etsy seller Michele Humphrey for her leavesofclay shop. Each piece is imprinted with different leaf species from the trees nearby.

I am pretty sure I need to touch these right away.
See more at Michele’s Etsy shop and the Leaves of Clay website.

The conditions at the Ravenswood Art Walk were much better than the last show I covered, because this show was indoors. The only challenge was trying to take photographs; too many long dark corridors and oddly placed skylights and windows prohibited me from practicing my photojournalistic skills. Some of these images are from the artist websites instead of from yours truly, but despite this I think you’ll get the point.

i’ve been enamorate of colorado artist tom edwards‘ pottery ever since we received it as a wedding gift, almost a decade and a half ago!

tom honed his craft in california. he selected clay as his medium because he didn’t think he was that good at painting or drawing. he started out doing art fairs in the 80’s, built a following, and then began selling in galleries.

many of tom’s pieces center around the antics of a dog named wally. this savvy canine, over the course of time, has found himself in a whirlwind of political uproar, corporate downsizing, and designer coffee.

tom’s simple pots, mugs and plates are imbued with a combination of humor and sharp and timely political insight. they are thoughtful, fun and easy to collect. purchase them at mindscape, or buy directly from the artist while exploring his many other designs on his wallyware site.
