i am liking these quirky sculptures from pennsylvania artist christine kaiser. each piece is handmade with combinations of wood, metal, wire and paint. christine’s anxiety series is meant to be a visual place to focus your stress, because she believes that anxiety held in the hand or put on a shelf creates less of it in the heart. her wake up and sleep pieces tow the mysterious line of dreams and reality, and were created to be a contemporary folk tale.

this collection is priced from $40 to $110 and is available at uncommon goods. see more great work on christine’s website.

look at these fun and bright screenprints and canvases featuring famous song lyrics from the it’s pop it’s art collection from london design company airside. they are working in conjunction with emi, the music publishing company to create these quirky and playful limited edition posters, which were inspired by the connection and love of music and art.

i love graphic word and art combinations and think these are so playful and appealing.
purchase the collection at the airside shop and see lots of other cool things around their site too!

i’m enchanted by this quirky sterling and 24k gold plated vegetable jewelry from berlin’s britta knüppel and verena kern for their otto von quast design company. these pieces were all made from real veggies, so each one is unique. choose from broccoli, cauliflower or a variety of peas.

hold on - jewelry is not the only offbeat thing they design! check out their clever porcelain pieces (made with cardboard forms that burn away during the firing process) and funny little tags that can be sewn into your clothes:

i like this quirky little sticklebook shelf. it’s built like a fine tooth comb. the wall bracket is aluminum which has a strip of little plastic grippy “teeth” that hold onto the cover and pages, which creates a floating illusion. it is meant for any size paperback book, and can hold up to a baker’s dozen.

no footprint - two thumbs up!
purchase them directly from sticklebook website, singulier and also here.

boy oh boy do i like this rustic patchwork furniture collection from georgia artist margaret taylor for her company dryads dancing. she incorporates reclaimed barn wood, moldings and bead board to create each one of a kind piece. margaret’s business started out as a hobby and time spent helping her dad with house projects. through this journey of time and experience, the soul and ultimate beauty of the materials she worked with were revealed. now look at what she has created from the fruits of that labor…

it’s got a lot of heart and good energy, doesn’t it? i would love to see any of these pieces in a room sparsely populated with furniture and a neutral color palette on the walls. what a stunning showpiece it would be!
the linear form and ample functionality of these pieces is the cake; a beautiful selection of color palettes to choose from is the cherry on top!
find select pieces of margaret’s marvelous collection at uncommon goods, and be sure to check her website for the full selection!
