reader saraM pointed me in the direction of the gorgeous organic stylings of uk ceramicist claire palastanga. the delicate porcelain forms are finely finished, and enhanced with the contrasting addition of silver of gold leaf details. claire is inspired by nature and has long been fascinated by spikey forms with sensitive centers, such as the fruit from the horse chestnut tree.

i used to love those chalky pastel candy necklaces when i was a kid, and now i can have a permanent reminder of a favorite childhood memory with this silver and gold-plated necklace from the clever folks at atypyk.

i love the styling in this photo that makes it look like some of the “candies” have been eaten.
85€ (us $119) and a lot more witty products right here.

takumi dinner bells

i’ve been leaving on my things
so in the morning when the morning bird sings
there’s still dinner on my dinner jacket
til the dinner bell rings
i don’t want a pizza, i don’t want a piece of peanut brittle, i don’t want a pear.
i don’t want a bagel, i don’t want a bean, i wouldn’t like a bag of beef or a beer. or a cup of chowder, corn, cake, or creamed cauliflower cause i’m waiting for the dinner bell to do the bell thing,
dinner bell dinner bell ding ding ding
{lyrics from the ebullient, beloved and oh-so-clever they might be giants}

it sure beats a triangle any day, doesn’t it?
$325 for the marvelous set at moss. –>

yippee! the second ornament from the swap arrived today, in a perfectly shrink-wrapped cardboard box. i opened it carefully to reveal a gorgeous card and an absolutely lovely bejeweled dangler, with a teeny little silver charm on the botttom that says “imagine.” (i covered up my swapper’s address on the box with snowflakes, for privacy’s sake.)

thank you so much brenda!

very edgy jewelry from toyme of italy, whose chief designer, georgo phillip pecenikov (gogo) comes from a long line of traditional jewelry makers. all pieces are cast from silver and are plated with rhodium, gold and other metals, for long-lasting shine.

i think i like the space invaders rings the best because they’re the most benign…

philippa roberts is a california artist who takes her inspiration from the san francisco coastline as well as the architectural elements within the city.

she created a basic line of sterling silver and pearls in 1996. since then, she’s expanded her collection, and has added more texture and dimension to her work by integrating a variety of colorful, semi-precious stones into her gorgeous designs.

i love how clean, feminine and organic all the pieces are.

find out more about philippa, and purchase her jewelry here.
