a stylish tissue box

i really like this stainless steel tissue box from hiroshi yamazaki.

it’s made of sleek stainless steel, and has several wooden end cap choices, including walnut and maple.

perhaps it is described best on the website: and the tissue which of course, always springs out from on the box it is not conspicuous flutteringly. if life it is ill-smelling even at the place where we would not like to make feel, this, it is all right.
my thoughts exactly. thanks, google translator!

design-oriented diners probably know all about german design wizard carl mertens,

but did you know that the company is doing a tabletop fireplace?

it’s comprised of slate and stainless steel, and it beats a boring old oil lamp anyday.
the only question is whether i like it better than the one wolf udo wagner has designed.
hmmm…
click on carl for more info.
find it at unica home.

tired of dirtying every pan in the kitchen just to make spaghetti? look at this beautiful pasta cooking pot, designed by alain ducasse and patrick jouin, and distributed by alessi.

it lets you cook pasta and sauce all at once. the starches are not discarded with the cooking water but instead are totally absorbed by the pasta, and the same holds true for the sauce ingredients.

follow this formula for success: first, put the dry pasta in the pot; then, add the ingredients of whatever sauce you want to make; and finally, add water or broth, all at once or gradually, cooking everything together with the specially designed cover, stirring occasionally.

in just a little more time than normally required to traditionally boil the pasta, your pasta with sauce is done and served directly at the table on the included trivet.

several gorgeous recipes from the legend ducasse are included.
in 18/10 stainless steel, with one melamine spoon and trivet.
unica home is now accepting advance orders.
