i’m enchanted by this quirky sterling and 24k gold plated vegetable jewelry from berlin’s britta knüppel and verena kern for their otto von quast design company. these pieces were all made from real veggies, so each one is unique. choose from broccoli, cauliflower or a variety of peas.

hold on - jewelry is not the only offbeat thing they design! check out their clever porcelain pieces (made with cardboard forms that burn away during the firing process) and funny little tags that can be sewn into your clothes:

a lovelier thing i don’t believe i have ever seen, perhaps? these gorgeous paintings and jewelry from seattle artist (by way of north carolina) faryn davis for her fernworks are mind boggling. faryn incorporates wood, resin, paint and wax with assorted ephemera to create a truly unique collection of art objects and jewelry. she has a bfa from the university of north carolina, and considers herself to be a master collector of small things. some of her more recent pieces are slightly out of focus, an influence that comes from the foggy, mysterious essence and conditions of the pacific northwest.

i really hope you can see the laborious details in these pieces. when i spoke with faryn at the fair she mentioned that her work is difficult to photograph, which i found to be true. i can only describe with words the depth these pieces have, filled with bits of found objects and color, all with a consistently quiet, pensive theme or energy.
the soul they have goes without saying.

i am completely going to date myself here, but i am proud to say that i still call compact discs by their birth name, records. and i absolutely love this cast sterling silver jewelry of a 45 rpm single adapter (and yes, i had one and it worked great!), from washington artist livewire for her company, common object jewelry.
good times, but that’s not all if you want to take a trip down memory lane. check these awesome pieces too.

the lucky token can be customized!

philippa roberts is a california jewelry designer who takes her inspiration from the san francisco coastline as well as the architectural elements within the city.

she created a basic line of sterling silver and pearls in 1996. since then, she’s expanded her collection, and has added more texture and dimension to her work by integrating a variety of colorful, semi-precious stones into her gorgeous designs.

i love how clean, feminine and organic all the pieces are.
