i love these loose and darkly colored watercolor stylings from the prolific uk poet, writer and artist cathy cullis. these beautiful pieces are actually sketches for the a new collection of handmade dolls cathy will make. they are dripping with abundant energy and possibility, that is for sure.

see cathy’s website to see her broad collection of work and to contact her, see her flickr stream for inspiration and visit her two etsy shops to see what fabulosity is for sale (really GREAT work, see for yourself below)!

my thoughts today are light, sprinkled and not particularly struggling to be organized (case in point: that last post was supposed to go live yesterday, but somehow i clicked private and it never went), so these mixed media works by california artist michelle moode are a perfect fit. michelle says her work is non-linear and that the repetitive processes she uses — like piece or scrap undoing and redoing, tea staining and stitching — help to create a record of her personal thoughts. very nicely put if i say so myself.

softly colored, abstract and free-formed in the mind — what’s not to like?
say hi to michelle on her blog and purchase her work right here.

wow — look at this gorgeous collage and embroidered artwork here from maine artist shannon rankin, aka etsy seller selflesh. shannon sees maps as biological networks, time lines and communication methods. she creates her original and limited edition works using this ephemera, thread, paint and more.

these pieces are stunning, precise and very reasonably priced (collection $3 - $150). i especially love the watery lower torso and legs in the body collage.
purchase these pieces and see more sampling at her etsy shop. stop by her flickr stream and blog too!
