Hurrah, hurray and hurry — Noa’s back!
Many may duplicate, but I accept no imitations of the clever typographical style of Helsinki-based graphic designer Noa Bembibre. I think these calendars are truly special and if you do too then you might want to preorder now. Shipping of the 500 limited edition pieces begins on November 5th, 2008.

Big fan here.
Purchase the €32 calendar (about US $25 and an awesome holiday gift for your most visual/designy friends), and see more of Noa’s work on her website.

seattle artists marianne sao and deborah crump worked in the graphic design and marketing industries separately for quite some time before they decided to combine their skills and creative vision. they’ve recently released their limited edition black and white griffonage series of 11″ x 17″ prints, which showcase manipulated typography and tiny thoughtful quotations. the elegant results land somewhere between graffiti and calligraphy, and are charming, bold and engaging.

griffonage means a type of illegible scrawl, but the message looks very clear to me.
so does the talent.
purchase these pieces and see the rest of the series right here.

look at some of the random notes people have created for the general public on this interactive typography site. each letter belongs to a random person’s published photograph on flickr, and clicking on any of them takes you to that person’s sets and photo streams.
fun!
play with the program here.

i am becoming obsessed with this terrific artwork from oregon artist sam (aka shannon in certain circles) tudyk. she spends her days working hard at the wonderful egg press letterpress company, and her evenings in her studio at home. combine this drive with a mind’s eye that’s constantly fueled and filled with vintage papers, overheard conversation, found objects, numbers, letters and assorted other ephemera, and you’ll find the results below: a beautiful collection of pieces, crafted from thread, pencil, acrylic paint, and layers of paper.

shannon graduated from the savannah college of art and design with two bfa degrees in illustration and graphic design.
purchase these fabulous things on her etsy shop, and don’t forget to check her website to see her extraordinary portfolio!
