aren’t these fuzzy-looking 18″ square sit and stay pillows super cute? they’re wool on the front, velveteen on the back and zipper backs for convenience.

purchase the set of two at sundance.

there’s a dude in this photo, and i wish i had what he’s wearing in my closet. or at least on my sofa.

i am a sucker for opulence, even if it doesn’t quite fit my lifestyle (and you never know, things can change). the 2007 luxury fabric collection from rubelli really impresses, with shimmering iridescent silks, crisp embroidered cottons and spectacular velvets.

rubelli has a 170 year old history and is based in venice, one of my favorite places in the whole world. they are headquartered in the palazzo corner spinelli on the grand canal, where they have a significant archival collection of ancient fabrics from all over the world (that can be visited by appointment!). they’re not exclusively steeped in history, though — they were the proud designers for some of the fabrics for marie antoinette, the 2006 oscar winner for costume design. each new fabric they create is an outflow of devotion to their philosophy of crafting highly sophisticated fabrics of superior quality, using traditional techniques and cutting edge technology.
see for yourself, and don’t forget to breathe.
