ceramic urban gnomes by vitamin

London design house Vitamin has created a whole new way of dressing your modern garden with these urban gnomes. Made from bone china, they don’t possess the cheezy kitch the ubiquitous plastic kind has. They are much more sculptural and contemporary, which is either a relief or rather alarming, depending on your point of view…

These pieces if left in a leafy green garden will absolutely light up the night. I say two thumbs up.

adam spector ceramics

i am really liking the patterns and tones of this lovely wheel-thrown pottery from new york artist adam spector. adam enjoys the geometry found in nature. tortoise shells, wet rocks and coral that he encounters, along with historical decorative surfaces, serve as inspiration for his stoneware collection. he uses a variety of techniques including wax resist and glaze trailing to perfect his distinctive style.

heart bowl by jessica rust

minnesota artist jessica rust does some lovely clay work, made even more special by the fact that it can be personalized for memorable gift giving. she recently added a new piece to her collection: the heart bowl. This piece is extra special because jessica is giving 100% (yes you read that right) of the profits from this piece to the american heart association.

heather mae erickson ceramics

let’s all glide into the weekend on the smooth and minimal stylings of philadelphia clay artist heather mae erickson. heather’s porcelain work revolves around the past, present and future, and how decorative art comes into play within a functional table setting. heather was kind enough to send me some new work that isn’t up on her website yet either!

elizabeth prince ceramics

let’s have a look at the beautiful ceramic designs from uk artist elizabeth prince. in a previous life, elizabeth was a fine artist and a popular interior designer. her stolen moments in between commissions were spent working in clay, and as time passed she decided to make it her full time focus. i’m so glad she did, because these hand stamped, glazed, pierced and pinched results are fantastic.
